About Us

Hi, I'm Thérèse 🐞

I'm married to Joe and we have two amazing kids. We’re part of the allergy-parent club,  solution seekers, and I’m someone who accidentally became an adult without getting the instruction manual. Still looking for it actually.

Hey Ladybird started because I was tired and frustrated. And fed up of being tired and frustrated. Tired of the mental load, tired of forgetting things, being the default parent, tired of trying to remember which child had Calpol last and when. I knew there had to be a better way to manage the chaos without adding more chaos.

So I built it. Well, we built it. Joe was also tired of hearing me explain the inside of my head and he knows the majority of the household management falls to women, so we got to work

What we do

We create simple NFC automations (the kids call them magic buttons) and digital guides that help parents and other adults lighten their mental load. One tap on your phone, and the thinking is done for you.

Then we got building the app, our lovely app.

Nothing complicated, these things have to be easy. I wanted to make practical tools that work and help when you're exhausted, overwhelmed, or juggling three things at once (which is basically always). I can't ever get rid of the mental load, but this is our very best attempt at making it a bit lighter.

Why ladybirds?

A group of ladybirds is called a loveliness. Ladybirds (or Ladybugs if you're American!) are seen as a sign of good luck, they're seen as little helpers in the garden, and I wanted these tools to be little helpers for your life, your brain. I wanted you to feel a sense of calm when you encounter Hey Ladybird, I hope that comes through.

Our promise

Everything we create is designed to save you time and mental energy. We test it a lot before we release any of our products. If it doesn't make your life easier, we won't make it.

We're here to help you get out the door on time, remember the important stuff, and have a bit more headspace for the things that actually matter. We wanted to be calmer, more present parents who weren’t stressed out about remembering book bags and water bottles. These have made all the difference to our family and we hope it does the same for yours.

Welcome to Hey Ladybird. Thanks for checking us out, We're so glad you're here.
